Effingham County Deputies arrested two people in reference to the vehicle break-ins in the county on earlier this month. David Ellis, 280, of Ellabell and Joseph Clements,28, of Savannah were arrested by deputies after they were seen entering vehicles and subsequently chased by a resident, said Sgt. Don White. After a foot chase with deputies, Ellis was arrested and a search of the area resulted in the arrest of Clements.
Ellis and Clements have both been charged with 19 counts of 2nd Degree Burglary and 5 counts of Theft By Taking, White said. Both are being held at the Effingham County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
