Savannah-Chatham police say they’re still looking for the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian who fell onto a midtown Savannah street this week.

Accident investigators believe Linsey Pryor, 57, tripped and fell onto Abercorn Street at East 61st Street about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday before being run over by a car heading south.

The driver who hit Pryor fled without stopping, said Eunicia Baker, police spokeswoman.

Major Accident Investigation Team officers have some leads but still need witnesses to come forward, Baker said. Initial reports indicated the driver was in a black, four-door car, but no details about make or model have been released.

Police ask anyone with information that can help them solve the case to call the anonymous CrimeStoppers service at 912-234-2020. Tipsters identities are never known, and they may be rewarded with cash.

Investigators can be reached in confidence at 912-525-3124.
