Seven cadets, hired by the Savannah-Chatham police department, graduated from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center on Friday.
The cadets completed a 11-week state-mandated training, which began on Sept. 7, said Darnisha Green, police spokeswoman. They are members of the GPSTC Class 286. These certified officers will begin an additional seven weeks of training at the police department’s Patrol School on Monday, Greeen said.
The new officers are James Hurst, Joseph Knight, Maria Lang, Erik Perez, Tyler Ranta, Anthony Ravita and Christopher Tillis.
