Savannah-Chatham police are looking to identify suspects who stole a vehicle from a bank on the 3500 block of West Bay Street late Monday night.

Metro responded to the incident at 10:52 p.m, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman. Investigators learned that the victim left his silver 2013 Chevrolet Impala running while using the ATM, Baker said. Two male suspects arrived in a Beige Pontiac Grand Prix. One suspect reportedly exited the Pontiac before entering the victim’s car and driving away, Baker said. The victim met police at a convenience store on the 2400 block of West Bay Street. No injuries were reported.

One suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, possibly in his mid-20s. He wore a black sweater during the incident. The second suspect’s description is unknown. Both vehicles were last seen driving east on Bay Street.

To reduce the odds of auto theft, Savannah-Chatham police suggest locking vehicles at all times, never leaving keys in unoccupied vehicles and parking in highly illuminated locations after dark.
