


Three California residents were arrested this week in a joint mail theft investigation between the Secret Service, U.S. Postal Inspectors, Savannah-Chatham police K-9 Unit and the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.
Joseph Maybrier, 24, Jessica Tyree, 24, and Jessie Berry, 22, were arrested this week for stealing mail from Savannah mailboxes. Law enforcement arrested the three individuals in a Savannah hotel, said deputy Robert Lipovsky, Chatham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman. Investigators found stolen mail, methamphetamine, several computers and printers used to print blank checks and ID cards in the hotel room at the time of arrest, Lipovsky said. Police also found identities of several hundred people along with their credit card information and stolen credit cards, hundreds of blank checks and burglary tools.
Federal charges will be brought before the US Attorney’s Office against all three for theft, fraud and drug possession,Lipovsky said. Officials did not specify where in Savannah was stolen or where the individuals were arrested because the investigation is ongoing.
