Savannah-Chatham police department is investigating an armed robbery attempt on the 500 block of West 35th Street that left three people with gunshot wounds Thursday night.
At about 9:50 p.m., police responded to a McDonald’s restaurant near Victory Drive and Montgomery Street, where a 33-year old person, a 37-year-old person and a 48 year-old person sought help after being shot at by a group of unidentified robbery suspects, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman. The 33-year-old suffered serious injuries and the other two adults were grazed by bullets and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Baker said. The three victims were transported by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment.
The victims were reportedly riding together in a car when the incident occurred. The events resulting in these injuries remain under investigation. Detectives are working to identify suspects.
