Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Calvin Johnson, 36, in connection with a domestic incident on Monday evening

He is charged with aggravated assault, said police spokeswoman Darnisha Green. Additional charges may be pending.

Johnson is known to frequent the Liberty City and Tatumville neighborhoods, the Jefferson Street corridor and the 1900 block of Cimmaron Street. He is described as a 6-foot-3 black male, weighing approximately 195 pounds.

He is believed to be armed and dangerous, said Green. Anyone aware of his location should call 911 immediately and avoid approaching him.

“Domestic violence is a very serious issue and does not occur overnight,” says Violent Crimes Sergeant, David Barefield. “There are many warning signs, so if there is concern for a family member, friend or neighbor, people need to report it. There are resources available to help remove victims from the cycle of abuse.”

Persons with information on Johnson’s whereabouts may also call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.

A confidential tip line also is open directly to investigators at 912-525-3124.
