Police say two teenagers were shot Wednesday afternoon in Savannah. As of 4 p.m., officers had been called to two scenes, one near Liberty City and one in Tatemville.
At Archer and Worth streets on Savannah’s west side, a teenager with a gunshot wound had been taken to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment, said Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman Darnisha Green. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
A separate shooting victim was reported in the 700 block of Atlanta Avenue in Tatemville, which is near the currently deserted Haven Elementary. There, a teenager suffered what police believe to be serious injuries and was rushed to Memorial.
Green said detectives are working to determine if the two cases are linked.
Spokesman Sonny Cohrs said the calls came in within 10 minutes of each other just before 4 p.m.
No further information was immediately available.
