Port Wentworth police are asking the public to help them find a 28-year-old man who led officers on a high-speed chase Saturday morning.

Jonathan Isaac Boles of Savannah was identified as the driver of a vehicle that fled officers on foot after his vehicle was crashed during the pursuit using the Pursuit Immobilization Technique, said police Cpl. Kenny McDonald.

Anyone with information on Boyles’ whereabouts is asked to contact Port Wentworth police at 912-964-4360.

Overnight lane closures on Abercorn start tonight

Overnight lane closures on Abercorn Street at King George Boulevard are scheduled over the next four days.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will close the lanes tonight from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., weather permitting, to enhance visibility of roadway striping in that intersection. The nightly closures will continue through Wednesday night.

Motorists are asked to use extreme caution in the work zone and reduce speeds while traveling in the area as crews are working.

Cable installation to slow I-95 traffic

Traffic will be slowed today on Interstate 95 near the Monteith Road overpass and in Port Wentworth at Exit 109 as cables are installed over the roadway.

Law enforcement will pilot a 20 mile per hour traffic pace starting five miles out in both directions beginning at 7 a.m. The work is not expected to last more than 15 mintues, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Motorists should expect delays in the area and are urged to use alternate routes if possible.
