Savannah-Chatham police are asking the public to help them identify and locate a man captured on video entering several vehicles at a southside Savannah business over the weekend.
Surveillance footage at an auto repair shop in the 6600 block of Abercorn Street captured the suspect looking into windows, checking locks and entering at least seven vehicles parked outside the shop between about 9:30 and 10:20 p.m. Sunday, said Eunicia Baker, police spokeswoman.
The video also shows the man looking inside and attempting to open doors leading to the front office of the shop.
Items were reported stolen from at least one car, Baker said. Detectives are investigating whether anything was missing from the other vehicles.
Bake described the suspect as a slender male weighing about 175 pounds and about 6-foot-2. He was last seen that night heading north on foot.
