A Fayetteville, N.C., man is in critical condition in a Savannah hospital after the car he was driving left two traffic collisions and crashed into a tree on Victory Drive Thursday night, said police spokesman Julian Miller.
After the midnight crash, Jeffrey Delaney, 30, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit.
He was driving a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo eastbound on Victory Drive when the car struck another vehicle near Victory and Harmon Street, struck the rear of a truck and proceeded past Wallin Drive, where it struck a palm tree, Miller said.
The Major Accident Investigation Team continues to investigate.
Roadwork to impact Old Montgomery Drive and 204
Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation will be painting traffic stripes within the intersection of Ga. 204 Spur/Whitefield Avenue and Old Montgomery Drive. The traffic striping operation is scheduled from 1-6 p.m. today, weather permitting.
This traffic striping operation will impact motorists with delays at this intersection. A temporary flagging operation will be utilized to direct traffic through the work zone and motorists should pay close attention to the instructions of the flagmen.
Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this and all work zones. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
Paving to impact Ferguson Avenue and 204
A contractor for the Georgia Department of Transportation will be paving within the intersection of Ga. 204 Spur/Diamond Causeway/Whitefield Avenue and Ferguson Avenue. The paving operation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday, weather permitting.
This paving operation will impact motorists with delays at this intersection. A temporary flagging operation will be utilized to direct traffic through the work zone and motorists should pay close attention to the instructions of the flagmen.
