Homicide investigators from the Savannah-Chatham Police Department are investigating the shooting death of a 32-year-old man near a nightclub outside the St. Patrick’s Festival Zone Saturday morning.
Sidney Grant was found dead on Indian Street in front of Club Frozen by Downtown Precinct patrol officers responding to a shooting call at 2 a.m., said Julian Miller, police spokesman.

Woman killed on I-95
A 27-year-old Anchorage, Alaska, woman was killed Friday night when she walked into the path of a vehicle on Interstate 95.
Angela Velvet Reynolds, who has been living at a King George Boulevard address, was declared dead on the scene in the northbound lanes of the interstate south of the Ga. 204 interchange about 11:15 p.m., said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
Officers with metro’s Major Accident Investigation Team found that she was riding in a car that had stopped on the interstate. She exited the vehicle and walked into the path of a Nissan Pathfinder driven by a Savannah woman.

Police investigate a vehicle crash
Savannah-Chatham police are investigating a shooting Saturday morning and a potential connection to a vehicle crash across town shortly after.
A male victim was transported to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment of injuries from the 2:47 a.m. shooting. He told police he was walking on Barnard Street near West 32nd Street when two men in a silver Toyota Scion drove up and one of them began shooting at him, said Julian Miller, police spokesman.
About 40 minutes later, Central Precinct officers were called to a house on the 4700 block of Herty Drive in Sylvan Terrace subdivision where a silver Scion had crashed into the backyard. Two males were removed from the wreckage and transported to Memorial.
Metro Violent Crimes detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting and possible ties to the crash.
