Savannah-Chatham police are investigating an early morning Friday shooting that hospitalized one man.

The 46-year-old man was listed in critical but stable condition at Memorial University Medical Center where he was taken after the shooting just after 1:45 a.m., said Julian Miller, police spokesman. The victim did not cooperate with the police investigation.

Officers responded to the call on Barnard Street near West 33rd Street where they found the man with a gunshot wound.

Miller said the victim told police he was walking toward his residence in the 800 block of Kline Street when a man shot him.

Detectives are continuing their investigation, Miller said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
