Savannah-Chatham police have released a video of a man they would like to interview in the investigation of the Feb. 9 rape of a woman in hopes the public can help identify him.
Investigators would like to talk to him about the case, said Julian Miller, police spokesman.
The woman was approached by a black man appearing to be in his 30s to 40s who stood about 5 feet 10 inches and was wearing a black jacket and black pants as she was parking her car at Candler Hospital about 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 9. The man robbed her and then forced her to drive to an eastside location before she was released, Miller said.
Anyone with information on the identity of the man in the video or on the case itself is asked to contact metro’s robbery unit at 912-651-6694 or special victim’s unit at 912-651-6742. Tipsters also may call CrimeStoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
