Accident investigators from the Savannah-Chatham police department continue to seek information on two vehicles that fled scenes after striking and killing pedestrians the past two weekends.
Major Accident Investigation Team officers are searching for a 2011-2012 Nissan Versa and a General Motors vehicle that has not been described.
Each may have damage to its front end, said Julian Miller, police spokesman.
The Versa is being sought in the investigation of an April 21 wreck on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in which a woman was struck near Gaston Street just after midnight.
The dark-colored Versa — a small hatchback sedan — was seen in the area, Miller said.
The GM vehicle is being sought after a 42-year-old man was found dead early Saturday morning on Howard Foss Drive in the Bacon Park/Sandfly area. He had been struck by one vehicle and left in the roadway, where he was hit by a passing car, Miller said.
Police ask anyone with information on the vehicles or drivers to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
