Police are asking the public’s help locating a Savannah man they filed murder and aggravated assault charges against in connection with a Friday night double shooting on the city’s eastside that left one person dead.

Leonardo Lamont “Scoochie” Anderson, 38, has been charged in the double shooting on the 1200 block of Seiler Avenue that killed 29-year-old Arkeen Abron of Port Wentworth and left another man with serious injuries, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.

Abron was pronounced dead at Memorial University Medical Center, where both men were taken after the 7:39 p.m. shooting.

Anderson recently lived on the 200 block of East 41st Street and is known to frequent the Waters Avenue corridor and west Savannah areas, Miller said. He is black, stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds and has short hair, police said.

Police said Anderson has an extensive criminal history and served a 10-year sentence from 1998-2008 for robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Violent crimes detectives are seeking information from the public on Anderson’s location. A confidential Tip Line is open directly to investigators at (912) 525-3124.

Anyone with information also may call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters to Crimestoppers remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
