One person was shot Wednesday afternoon in Savannah’s Dixon Park neighborhood.
Shortly after 3 p.m., a male was shot in front of a house on the 400 block of East Waldburg Street, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
The gunshot victim was taken to Memorial University Medical Center with wounds that were considered serious, Miller said.
Police cordoned off the 400 block of East Waldburg, just a few blocks from the downtown Kroger, with crime scene tape as they investigated Wednesday afternoon. Violent crimes detectives and forensics officers were on sene.
No details about a suspect were immediately available.
Police ask anyone with information on the shooting to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
