Police are looking for a Savannah man they’ve charged with armed robbery.
Darrell Edmund Phillips, 43, was identified as the suspect who on Oct. 21 robbed a 19-year-old man who had just given him money to help him with expenses, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
After the victim gave the robber money, the suspect produced a knife on near West 41st and Howard streets and demanded the rest of the victim’s money.
Police say Phillips is black, sands about 6 feet tall, weights 250 pounds and possibly has a short beard and mustache. He has served five years of a 12-year sentence for armed robbery in 1994 and nine years of a 10-year sentence for armed robbery and attempted robbery in 2001, Miller said.
