Police say they’ve charged a Savannah man with murder after an autopsy was conducted on a local woman who was found dead Saturday.
Roman Eugene Hills, 38, was charged with murder after the autopsy on 35-year-old Beverly Jones, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
Police had previously charged Hills with aggravated assault pending the results of the autopsy.
Hills was arrested after Southside Fire/EMS medics were called to his house on the 1100 block of Graydon Street at 8:14 a.m. Saturday.
Jones, who lived there, was declared dead on the scene, Miller said.
Violent Crimes detectives continue to investigate.
