Police are looking for the driver of a car that struck a 69-year-old homeless man and sped away Thursday night on Savannah’s eastside.
The vehicle, possibly a 1980s model Oldsmobile Cutlass or Buick Regal, is maroon and should have damage to the left front fender, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman. It was last seen traveling east on Victory Drive at 7:12 p.m. Thursday.
The vehicle turned left from Victory Manor Place onto Victory Drive and struck Richard Lindsey, 69, who was crossing Victory Drive just east of the intersection at Dixie Avenue, Miller said. He was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Officers of the Major Accident Investigation Team continue to investigate.
