Pooler police and the FBI arrested four men on felony charges last week in a sting targeting men who are exploiting underage females.

Thirty-five-year-old Enoc Jose Jerez, 22-year-old William David McTaggart, 29-year-old James Daniel Leahy and 21-year-old Joshua R. Smith were arrested Friday and charged with sexual exploitation of children, according to Chatham County jail logs.

Jerez and Smith live in Savannah, Leahy lives in Flemming and McTaggart is from Albion, Ill., according to Pooler police reports.

A Pooler police detective wrote in his preliminary reports that the four men all texted undercover officers “in an explicit manner” then showed up separately at a local hotel “to meet what (they) believed to be a minor female in a hotel room alone.”

Each man, upon arriving at the rooms set up by Pooler police and the FBI Southeast Georgia Child Exploitation Task Force, were taken into custody and transported to jail.
