Savannah-Chatham police collaborated with Orange County, S.C., deputies and a finance company to recover a stolen car and arrest a Savannah man who took it from a house last August.
Charles Richard Brice, 47, of a Shawnee Drive address was extradited back to Savannah Tuesday and booked in the Chatham County jail for auto theft after his arrest in Holly Hill, S.C., on Aug. 7, said Julian Miller, metro police spokesman.
Southside Precinct detectives had responded on Aug. 3 to a residence where a woman reported her 2002 Toyota Camry was taken. The keys had been left in the kitchen and Brice was the only person who had been in the house who was not present, Miller said.
Detectives were advised that the car belonged to a finance company and learned a GPS was installed on it. The car was tracked to Vance, S.C., where deputies located it and Brice.
