Police have charged a local man with murder in the 2013 shooting death of another man in front of a Savannah bar.
Michael Elize Rivers, 38, was arrested Thursday night at a warehouse where he was working on Crossroads Parkway by U.S. marshals and Savannah-Chatham police detectives, said Julian Miller, department spokesman.
He has been charged by with murder in the death of Darin Leonard Manigo, 47. Manigo was shot in from of Sharon’s Lounge on the 600 block of Montgomery Street at 2:23 a.m. May 5, 2013.
Rivers, of the 600 block of East 37th Street, is a three-time convicted felon with an arrest record beginning in 1993. He has been arrested four times for violating probation and once for violating parole, Miller said.
