Savannah-Chatham police have added murder charges against a 68-year-old Savannah woman after the death Wednesday of a woman who was shot in an incident earlier this month.
Lorraine Manuel, 27, of Savannah, died Wednesday afternoon at Memorial University Medical Center, said Julian Miller, police spokesman. She’d been in critical condition since she was shot June 4.
Police have said Vivian Corely called Emergency 911 at 3:40 p.m. that day to report she had shot someone inside a rental house she owns off Beaumont Drive in southwest Chatham County. The shooting took place after a discussion between the two women.
Corely had previously been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, aggravated battery and criminal attempt to commit murder.
Savannah-Chatham Police detectives are continuing to investigate the incident, Miller said.
