Detectives say the bodies found in a Windsor Forest house this spring have been identified as a mother and son who died by murder-suicide.
Investigators determined that Ralph Terrill, 50, killed his mother, 80-year-old Patricia Witherspoon before killing himself in the home they shared on the 12000 block of Sunnybrook Road, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
Police discovered a history of abuse of the woman in the house, which had been barricaded from the inside, Miller said.
Terrill and Witherspoon were discovered inside the home April 18. Miller said they had been dead for a long time before a lawn care worker called police about an odor coming from the house.
