With new information, the FBI and Savannah-Chatham police are asking the public to keep helping them in their search for the armed gunman who robbed a Wells Fargo bank Friday afternoon.
Investigators believe that in addition to the ball cap and surgical mask that concealed his face, the suspect wore a long wig as part of his disguise when he walked into the bank on the 5700 block of Waters Avenue, produced a handgun and demanded money, said police spokeswoman Eunicia Baker. He fled on foot at 12:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.
FBI agents say the suspect is armed and dangerous. Anyone coming in contact with him should call 911 immediately, Baker said.
Police ask anyone with information on the robbery or the suspect’s identity to call the FBI at 912-790-3100, Crimestoppers at 912-234-2020 or detectives at 912-525-3124.
