Police say three people were shot in two incidents Thursday morning in Savannah.
The first shooting, just after 2:45 a.m. in the 700 block of East 39th Street, sent a 26-year-old man to Memorial University Medical Center in serious condition, said Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman Eunicia Baker.
Police say the victim was a block away from where a ShotSpotter alert put the shooting asking for help.
The male suspect may have run away from the scene, heading north. Investigators don’t think the shooting was random, Baker said.
Officers were called to the 100 block of South Robin Hood Drive about 11 a.m. on reports of a second shooting. A man and woman had both been shot, police said.
Neither person suffered life-threatening injuries.
The man was taken into custody, and police are looking into whether the shooting began as a domestic violence altercation, Baker said. Investigators are still piecing together the chain of events.
Additionally, just after 1 a.m., gunshots were fired in the 1000 block of West 36th Street, but no one was hurt. None of the incidents are believed to be linked and all are still under investigation.
