Six people were taken to Memorial University Medical Center after a two-vehicle collision on East Victory Drive and Williams Street Thursday afternoon.

Gerard Curtis, 51, was traveling west on Victory Drive in an Acura 3.2 TL, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman. The Acura crossed the center median, striking a palm tree with its right side view mirror, before colliding head-on with an eastbound Audi Q7 driven by Hisayo Ermoli, 46.

Savannah Fire Department responded to the scene to extricate Curtis and his passengers, Michael Jackson, 42, and Judy Johnson, 49. Ermoli’s passengers were juvenile males, ages 13 and 11.  Both drivers and their passengers received non-life threatening injuries.

Savannah-Chatham police are investigating the incident, Baker said.
