Savannah-Chatham police investigate Iowa Street shooting

Savannah-Chatham police are investigating a Tuesday night shooting on the 2100 block of Iowa Street that injured a 20-year-old man.

At about 11:58 p.m. metro police responded to scene after reports of a shooting, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman. Minutes later investigators learned that man arrived at Memorial University Medical Center in a privately owned vehicle with non-life threatening injuries, Baker said.

The man was reportedly sitting outside of a residence with a group of males when shots were fired from a light colored sedan. The vehicle fled in an unknown direction. Detectives are working to identify the suspect and police are investigating the incident, Baker said.
