UPDATE: The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a wreck and officer-involved shooting that resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old woman.

United States Marshall’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force members were executing an arrest warrant against a subject for a felony offense of possession of a firearm Friday night when a vehicle driven by Tiffany Chisholm, was stopped at J.D. Byrider on East Victory Drive, said Nelly Miles, GBI spokeswoman.

Chisholm reportedly drove towards Chatham County Deputy Walter Kent who was standing outside of a unmarked government vehicle, Miles said. Deputy Kent fired his gun striking Chisholm in the neck/shoulder area and  Chisholm’s vehicle collided with two unmarked government vehicles.

Chisholm was transported to a local hospital and later released, Miles said. No other injuries were reported during this incident. Chisholm told investigators she did not know the vehicles in the area were being driven by law enforcement officers.

Chisholm was taken into custody by members of the Fugitive Task Force and transported to the Chatham County Jail.

The GBI will conduct an independent investigation to determine what occurred during the incident, Miles said. When the investigation is complete, it will be turned over to the District Attorney for judicial review.

EARLIER: The Chatham County Sheriff's Office as well as officers from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals office are investigating a wreck and possible shooting in the parking lot of the J.D. Byrider car lot on Victory Drive.

There is no word yet on any injuries. A bullet may have broken out a window of one of the vehicles involved.
