Police say they’re looking for the man suspected of robbing a woman at gunpoint Wednesday night at Oglethorpe Mall on Savannah’s southside.
The 22-year-old woman was trying to enter her vehicle about 9:30 p.m. when a man walked up to her and asked for a cigarette lighter. When the woman offered the man a lighter, the man pulled a gun and stole her purse, said Sonny Cohrs, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
The robber ran away, and then the woman ran toward a mall security guard to ask for help. The guard called police.
Police ask anyone who may have information on the case to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward if information leads to an arrest.
