
Victims of two recent Savannah shootings have succumbed to their injuries, and police are investigating their deaths has homicides.
Randy Brown, 39, who was shot Jan. 15, and Marvin Hills, 24, who was shot Jan. 17, have both died, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman.
Just after 2 a.m. Jan. 15, Brown was found critically injured on the 1000 block of East 34th Street and was taken to Memorial University Medical Center where he later died of his gunshot wounds, Baker said.
Hills succumbed to injuries suffered during an early morning shooting Jan. 17 on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Victory Drive.

Effingham woman charged after giving teen drug
A woman was arrested after providing a minor with the drug called “Spice” Monday evening, according to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a residence on Walter Samuel’s Road on a report of a child that was injured after falling off a golf cart.
“The investigation revealed that Tiffany Dayson, 22, of Springfield gave a 16-year-old juvenile Spice as they were riding on a golf cart,” spokesman David Ehsanipoor said. “The juvenile then became ill, jumped off of the golf cart, began hitting himself, and then became unconscious.”
The child was transported to an area hospital where he is expected to recover.
Dayson was arrested and charged with cruelty to children, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She is currently being held in the Effingham County jail.
Police seek Sam’s Club phone thief
Savannah-Chatham police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man who stole cellphones from a Sam’s Club on the city’s southside.
Furthermore, police believe him responsible for smartphone thefts at the store’s locations in at least two states, said Eunica Baker, metro police spokeswoman.
The Savannah incident occurred about 9 a.m. Dec. 30 at the Sam’s on the 1900 block of East Montgomery Crossroad. A man wearing a small backpack pried open a display case containing iPhones, then placed 14 phones in his backpack and left, Baker said.
Detectives believe he left the scene in a newer model black Dodge Charger.
The suspect is linked to thefts from Sam’s stores in DeKalb County as well as Lumberton County, N.C., Baker said. In each case, the thief made off with smartphones from the electronics department and left in the same type of vehicle.
Police describe the suspect as a black male in his 20s who stands about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighs 160-180 pounds.

Concrete work on I-16 rescheduled for next week
Expected cold weather has postponed concrete slab repair on Interstate 16 until Monday.
Weather permitting, repair work between mile posts 152 and 153 on I-16 in Chatham County is expected to occur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Monday. The repair work had been scheduled this week, but materials are temperature sensitive.
