An alleged repeat methamphetamine cook was arrested Thursday afternoon during a joint operation by sheriff’s deputies from Effingham and Screven counties.

James Joyner, 37, of Screven County, was arrested after investigators from the agencies executed a search warrant at his residence on Poor Robin Road in Screven County following a 3-month-long investigation, said David Ehsanipoor, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Deputies discovered an active meth lab along with several other items used to manufacture the drug inside of his residence, Ehsanipoor said.

Joyner has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine.

“Joyner has an extensive criminal history, and was currently out on bond for methamphetamine and weapons charges out of Effingham County,” Ehsanipoor said.

He was being held in the Screven County jail Thursday night.

Police seek man suspected of entering cars

Detectives are searching for a man and vehicle they say are linked to multiple entering-auto incidents on Savannah’s eastside and southside.

Warrants have been filed against Kenneth Mack, 23, of the 2400 block of Mississippi Avenue, in connection with the incidents, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman.

Just before 5 p.m. Feb. 11, a man investigators believe to be Mack was seen taking items from a vehicle parked outside Calvary Day School’s daycare center on Waters Avenue, Baker said. The suspect left in a gold Honda Accord.

Several days later, a man fitting Mack’s description was again seen breaking into a vehicle at Calvary Day, removing contents before driving away in a gold Accord.

Mack and the gold car are also believed to be connected to a Feb. 14 entering auto incident at Lake Mayer Community Park off Montgomery Crossroad, Baker said.

The gold Accord is a 1996 model with tinted windows and Georgia license plate No. PSM9091.

Police ask anyone with information on the locations of Mack or the gold Accord to call CrimeStoppers at 912-234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
