An alleged repeat methamphetamine cook was arrested Thursday afternoon during a joint operation by sheriff’s deputies from Effingham and Screven counties.
James Joyner, 37, of Screven County was arrested after investigators with the agencies executed a search warrant at his residence on Poor Robin Road in Screven County following a three-month-long investigation, said David Ehsanipoor, Effingham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Deputies discovered an active meth lab along with several other items used to manufacture the drug inside of his residence, Ehsanipoor said.
Joyner has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine.
“Joyner has an extensive criminal history, and was currently out on bond for methamphetamine and weapons charges out of Effingham County,” Ehsanipoor said.
He was being held in the Screven County jail Thursday night.
