I-16 lanes to close for repairs

Single eastbound lanes of Interstate 16 between mile posts 152 and 153 will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays until March 27.

It is possible the lane closures, which are necessary for concrete slab repair, could remain in place throughout the night, said Jill Nagel, state Department of Transportation spokeswoman.

All work is weather contingent. Weather conditions could necessitate additional time to cure concrete slabs, Nagel said.

Personnel and heavy equipment will be operating close to open lanes. Motorists are urged to drive slowly and cautiously.
