
Police a seeking a local man for questioning in reference to two March 17 shootings.
Derrick Gatch, 24, is not considered a suspect in the case, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman. Detectives would like to interview him about the shootings that left 24-year-old Barry Trevon Williams dead on the 2000 block of Mississippi Avenue and sent a 25-year-old man to a hospital.
A man charged with murder and aggravated assault in those shootings, 28-year-old James Harris Jr. of Savannah, was arrested Tuesday in Bluffton, S.C., by U.S. marshals and local police.
Gatch, who is a resident of the 200 block of Wiley Bottom Road, is described as a white man with brown hair and brown eyes who stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 250 pounds, Baker said.
