
Savannah-Chatham police homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Savannah man Sunday afternoon.
Malcolm Xavier Raphael Mitchell, 21, died after he was transported to Memorial University Medical Center following the 12:48 p.m. shooting at Waters Avenue and East 38th Street, said police spokesman Julian Miller.
Miller said Mitchell was driving a white sedan when shots were fired from a passing car. The victim crashed into a yard and was found in the street.

Suspect sought in Friday shooting
Savannah-Chatham police are investigating the shooting of a 39-year-old Savannah man on the 1200 block of East 37th Street on Friday afternoon.
The victim was transported to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment of a non-life threatening wound, said police spokesman Julian Miller.
Miller said the suspect, described as a slender black male, about 6 feet tall, in his mid-20s to early 30s, was wearing a black hooded shirt and gray jogging pants. He ran east and entered a red SUV, possibly an Isuzu Rodeo.
Violent Crimes detectives continue to investigate the shooting.
