A Rincon man has died from his injuries in a single-vehicle wreck on McCall Road.
Jason Kicklighter, 33, crashed his car in the woods the night of May 12.
Effingham County Sheriff’s Office spokesman David Ehsanipoor said Kicklighter was ejected from the vehicle.
Ehsanipoor said speed was a factor in the wreck.
Kicklighter’s vehicle matched the description of a car involved in a hit-and-run on McCall Road at Ga. 21 shortly before the fatal crash.
“We do believe he was involved in the hit-and-run,” Ehsanipoor said.
The hit-and-run accident resulted in minor injuries.
Kicklighter was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center where he remained until his death Thursday.
