Police are searching the area between Hodgson Memorial Drive at Mall Boulevard and Abercorn Street in Savannah for one or two suspects in a shooting Saturday afternoon.
Officers, including special units that were in training at the time, are searching for a white male believed to be in his mid-20s, wearing a white T-shirt, blue shorts with an orange stripe, a blue ball cap and possibly accompanied by a black male.
Police ask anyone seeing someone matching that description to call 911 immediately and not approach the individuals.
They are being sought after a male was shot near Habersham Street and Stephenson Avenue just after 4 p.m., said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
The shooting victim has been transported to a hospital for treatment of what appears to be a non-life threatening wound, Miller said.
One male is being treated at a hospital for injuries received when he was taken into custody by a K-9 officer shortly after the shooting, Miller said.
No further information was immediately available.
