Police on Tuesday arrested a Savannah man after a gun in his possession while committing a crime in Savannah was linked to a crime in Bryan County.
Assisted by Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, metro police arrested John Hunter Jr., 19, near his Florence Street residence.
On March 10, officers discovered a gun in Hunter’s possession during a shoplifting at Macy’s in Savannah, said Eunicia Baker, metro police spokeswoman. Last Saturday, the department’s Gun Unit identified that gun as one of nine reported stolen in Bryan County on March 11. One week later he bonded out of jail.
