State rangers say a baby is OK after being involved in a Jet Ski accident Tuesday on the Ogeechee River.
The infant girl was released from Memorial University Medical Center after spending the night while doctors monitored her for hypothermia, said Sgt. Cindy Miller, a law enforcement ranger with the state Department of Natural Resources.
The girl was found to be unharmed, though there were concerns about her breathing the night before, Miller said.
The girl’s parents were with her when the incident involving Jet Skis happened on the Ogeechee near King’s Ferry boat ramp shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Miller said. Rangers say the infant was on one of the watercrafts.
There’s no law against taking a baby on a Jet Ski or other watercraft, but they, like other children, must wear life jackets.
The DNR is still investigating the incident, and no further information about the case was available Wednesday.
