Police have charged a 71-year-old man with vehicular homicide in the May 26 traffic death of a motorcyclist in Garden City.
John Bert Felder was arrested Thursday night and charged with making an improper left turn in addition to the felony for the wreck that killed 46-year-old Derek McGee of Savannah.
McGee was driving his motorcycle north on Dean Forest Road about 3:30 p.m. May 26 when a two-door sedan driven by Felder turned left toward the Town Center and they collided, Garden City police said at the time.
Police Chief David Lyons said the investigation was completed this week, and that warrants were drafted and signed after a consultation with the district attorney’s office.
Felder, who lives in Garden City, was given a $4,600 bond.
