Police say a man was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being shot just east of downtown Savannah on Tuesday evening.
Officers were called to the 200 block of Wilder Drive at 5:03 p.m. They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman.
Detectives and forensics officers arrived and began an investigation.
Police say there were many people in the area at the time of the shooting, and they’re asking witnesses to come forward.
