Savannah-Chatham police say they arrested a local man Saturday after he shot his girlfriend in the city's Cuyler-Brownville neighborhood.
Officers were called to the 2200 block of East 39th Street about 3:15 p.m., where they found a 35-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound, said police spokeswoman Michelle Gavin. She was taken to a hospital for treatment — police do not believe her injuries are life threatening.
Kinta Dewane Davis, 37, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault (domestic violence), possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The investigation is ongoing, Gavin said.
