
UPDATE: Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police arrested Joshua Lovett Tuesday, just before midnight, without incident outside of a business on the 1900 block of East Victory Drive.

Police are looking for the man they say shot his mother and beat her fiance with a baseball bat Tuesday afternoon in Savannah’s Jackson Park neighborhood.
Detectives are charging Joshua Lovett, 20, with two counts of aggravated assault.
Officers found the 49-year-old woman suffering form a gunshot wound at a house in the 3300 block of Argyle Street about 12:10 p.m., said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman. She was taken to Memorial University Medical Center in critical condition.
Her 54-year-old finace, meanwhile was taken to Memorial in serious but stable condition.
Lovett is described as a black male with hair styled in medium length twists who stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He is known to frequent Carver Village and neighborhoods throughout Savannah’s west side.
Police say Lovett is armed and dangerous. Anyone coming in contact with him is asked to call 911 immediately.
