
Violent Crimes detectives of Savannah-Chatham police are investigating a shooting near Mastick and Wheaton streets that seriously injured a man Monday night.
Police arrived at the scene about 10 p.m. and found a 29-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman. The man was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in serious, but non-life-threatening condition.
Investigators believe the gunshot victim and a friend were eating in a vehicle parked outside the residence when shots rang out from another vehicle on Mastick street, Baker said. Circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
The suspect may be driving a long black SUV.

Savannah-Chatham police say they arrested a man for striking two people with a vehicle while driving aggressively Monday night.
Officers responded to the 600 block of Emerald Drive just before 7 p.m., where Trent James Raven, 26, allegedly struck Avery Giles, 25, and Dennis White, 27, with a Nissan Xterra. The victims and the suspect engaged in a altercation before the collision, said Eunicia Baker, Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman.
Raven was taken into custody at the scene. Giles and White were transported to Memorial University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect and the two victims were acquainted before this event, Baker said. Investigators believe the incident was intentional.
Raven is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal damage to property.
