Police said they charged a man with aggravated assault after he was shot during a gunfire exchange with security guards at a Savannah nightclub late Thursday.
Nathaniel Hardy, 21, is under guard at Memorial University Medical Center, where he was taken for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury after being shot about 11:38 p.m. Thursday, said Julian Miller, Savannah-Chatham police spokesman.
Hardy was in the parking lot of Overtime in the 4600 block of Skidaway Road when shots were fired between him and men working private security at the club, Miller said.
It was unclear what led to the exchange.
Violent crimes detectives continue to investigate the shooting.
